“Lovely Bed&Breakfast close to a wonderful beach”
Cinzia and Fiorenzo are wonderful host and the B&B is so lovely. Its very quiet up there, but you need only 5 minutes to a wonderful beach. If your are lucky, you can see the crocodiles at the bridge close to the beach.
Our room (there are only 2) and the bathroom were very clean, equipped with nice furniture and a very good bed. But the very best was the delicious breakfast Cinzia made each morning. She bakes bread, cookies, cakes, we got a coconut, fruits, homemade marmelade and also savory items. They helped us with the bus to San José, we highly recommend them and their B&B.
Playa Carillo is a very quiet and small village, but there are enough restaurants and small shops. The beach is good for swimming and it was almost empty.
Bring a torch when going out for dinner, because the streets up the little hill are very dark (but safe).
Every morning I had a beautiful view overlooking the amazing garden, and every night I sat outside and listened to the sounds of the rain forest. Cinzia's homemade breakfasts every morning exceeded my expectations! Everyday I was served fresh fruit, homemade bread, cakes, and jams. She also prepared a main dish with eggs, veggies and homemade tortillas!
Casa Buenavista is a little hidden piece of heaven, and a short beautiful walk to an amazing beach! I was never hungry for lunch because of my amazing breakfasts, but for dinner I would eat at the soda la plaza right up the road:) amazing food and the price is fantastic! I'm looking forward to returning next year for another visit! If your looking for a little bit more night life playa samara is just a short bus or taxi ride away:) thank you Cinzia and Fiorenzo for an amazing stay!!!! Pura vida!
Ventilatore o aria condizionata (a pagamento).
E ogni giorno qualcosa di diverso (sempre made in Cinzia): muffins, torte, focacce, biscotti.....

We really enjoyed our stay with Cinzia & Fiorenzo. They made us very welcome, were always friendly and the room and bathroom spotlessly clean. Cinzia makes a different bread for part of breakfast everyday and it is always delicious! Our room balcony looked over their lovely garden and hummingbirds visited it which is a bonus :-)
The great beach is just a few minutes walk down the hill, and there is a soda which has very good casado and other food about five minutes walk away in the Carrillo village.
I would highly recommend this B&B for a quiet, no fuss stay in a laid back corner of CR.

This was the second time my wife and I stayed here and it was just as wonderful the second time, which is incredible because sometimes you have a great experience that doesn't live up to your memories of the first time, but this place does! We arrived pretty stressed out from our lives back in the States, my wife got the shiatsu massage and it completely revitalized her, she highly recommends it. We get quite expensive massages here in the US once in a while but this was by far the best and not expensive at all. Don't worry if they ask you to send a deposit on your first stay, Cinzia and Fiorenzo are old school. If you are doubtful, let them know and they will probably hold the room for you without a deposit, which says a lot about them. Enjoy!

We spent a great time in Casa Buenavista in the beginning of January. We have been travelling a lot around the world and we have to say that this was the best place we have ever been. The location is perfect, just few minutes walk from the Playa Carrillo and if you have a car there is many descerted beautiful beaches nearby.
Rooms are really beautiful and the breakfast is outstanding and I really recommend you to try the omelette. If yopu want to experience the best of Costa Rica you should spent at least few nights at Casa Buenavista.
We hope to see you again maybe next time in Finland :)

It's very simple to say......."IT FEELS LIKE HOME"
It's 5 minutes to the beach and a 10 minute ride into Samara where you'll find what feels like a surf town in the 70's with little local shops, sodas ( lunch places ) surf shops and a variety of "ALL" of the above.
Your hosts Cinzia and Fiorenzo are great and make you feel at home the moment you arrive .
The rooms are CLEAN, WELL APPOINTED and very cozy. The upper room has A/C as well as a ceiling fan and small fridge.
Others have said the homemade breads and carrot cake are amazing, well guess what, they are, along with other surprises !!!!
Breakfast is offered each day with Tea, Coffee, Fresh Fruit, Homemade Jams for the homemade breads and with the beach and rain forest around you makes this little 2 room BuenaVista B&B Perfect.

Casa Buena Vista is a little private piece of paradise just a short walk from a beautiful, coconut palm lined, deserted beach! Cinzia and Fiorenzo are a sweet Italian couple who welcomed us like old friends and truly did pamper us. The little casa is romantic, very clean and a very comfortable bed. Cinzia had fresh flowers in our room every day! Cinzia made a delicious breakfast with fresh fruits, home made breads and muffins, served with her homemade marmalades that she served under their terrace. The yard is enchanting and perfectly manicured! We saw Howler Monkeys and McCaw Parrots from our little terrace. We only got to stay three nights and we didn’t want to leave! Pura Vida!!!

And all the glowing comments from the other reviewers are all true. Cinzia really does get up sometime before 5 a.m. to bake a mouth watering assortment of breads for her guests and presents these along with homemade marmalades and freshly cut fruit in an artful spread every morning in their outdoor rancho (covered area for relaxing). I felt so pampered. Our room and bathroom were always impeccably clean with fresh sprigs of flowers that appeared daily while we were out. Both Cinzia and Fiorenzo were warm and friendly when we were looking to engage in conversation and intuitively respectful of our private time as well (we were on our honeymoon)...............
Enjoy connecting with these lovely people in such a beautiful relaxing place!

Cinzia and Fiorenzo are the perfect hosts. Kind, attentive and respectful of your privacy. The place is spotless. Every morning we awoke to the sound of parrots, anticipating another one of the delicious homemade breakfasts. Carrillo is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, and Casa Buenavista is the place to stay. We will be back!

We have stayed here twice for week-long vacations, and have loved both trips. Cinzia and Fiorenzo are fantastic, the food is good, and the location is ideal. Be sure to make an appointment for a massage with Fiorenzo!

Casa Buena Vista gets 5-Stars without a doubt! It was superb, private, quiet, super spotless and wanted to stay longer than our 5 days. The breakfast that is included was delicious and wanted to have it for dinner, too. I highly recommended to all who are visiting the Pacific Coast and do reserve as early as possible, so you will not be disappointed if they are booked. I hope my memories that I have of Casa Buena Vista stay with me as I reflect on Costa Rica.

Casa Buenavista was simply delightful. I can’t say enough about Cinzia and Fiorenzo’s hospitality. It made my vacation. I needed a quiet and peaceful place to stay while in Costa Rica and this was
just the perfect place. We stayed two weeks and never got bored.
The rooms are tastefully decorated, and each one has its own private bath, porch / deck overlooking Cinzia’s lush garden. Every morning Cinzia brings coffee and fresh fruit, delicious homemade bread and muffins or cookies to the table on the porch / deck. It is healthy and filling. There is an open-air pavilion, a ‘dojo’, on the property where Fiorenzo teaches karate; when he is not teaching, it is free for guests to use. I started my day every morning, stretching and doing yoga. (thinking: this is how I want to live!)
Playa Carrillo is small and quiet; the beach, just down the hill, is untouristy, a perfect crescent lined with palm trees. When it has a few more people on the weekends, they are mainly Ticos, and it is still uncrowded. We went kayaking with Popo- which we highly recommend! (an American, raised in St. Croix, with a lovely Tico wife and sweet, smart surfer kids). He gave a great tour down a river and onto a beach and then out into the open water and back to Playa Carrillo. He also teaches surfing. We went in to Playa Samara once or twice as we needed an ATM, but we preferred the peacefulness of Carrillo. Though small, there were a few good restaurants. Cinzia does prepare a few things in the afternoon upon request (for an extra cost). Her traditional bruschetta is not to be missed: so fresh and delicious. For us it was enough for a light dinner with beer. Fiorenzo is a trained shiatsu masseuse. That was a treat I let myself indulge in twice.
Cinzia and Fiorenzo have lots of information about the area and things to do, and about Costa Rica in general; they have lived in Costa Rica for over 20years. They helped us decide what other places we might like to see.
